Situation

Our client provides digital banking solutions to banks, credit unions and other financial institutions. They wanted to help their clients drive new business with modernized APIs that would give customers a more efficient and seamless experience when interacting with its apps. However, the existing setup was comprised of various platforms that were developed over decades.

Our client wanted to leverage their existing investments in those time-tested platforms while making these functionalities available through modern channels. This would make their existing products more competitive in the market.

Action

We collaborated with our client to design API-as-Products by externalizing functionalities from legacy platforms as APIs. Our Product Oriented Delivery (POD) teams developed a suite of modern cloud-native APIs, powered by Java Reactive programming for efficiency and agility.

To ensure scalability and availability, these APIs were deployed on the robust foundation of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). We used Apigee to bundle APIs as products and to deliver them securely.

We developed Google Cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform and implemented CI/CD for Java-based microservices. Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and software supply chain security were integrated within the CI/CD pipeline.

Our teams collaborated with business, platforms, security and cloud teams to ensure that functionalities were compliant with security standards of a highly regulated financial industry.

Now, our client’s banking customers can deliver seamless, digital-first experiences through intuitive, personalized, self-service functionalities to their customers.
