Situation

Our client developed custom software for the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry.

Insurance

Our client needed to transform its business model and scale its engineering team to support that.

The company had come to dominate the market though custom software development for insurance companies, but it needed to transform its business model to creating software products that could be sold on a subscription basis, and to scale its engineering team to support that.

Action

Most of our client’s software engineers were located in the United States, which made scaling to the point where the company could create software products cost-prohibitive.

The Infogain Digital Engineering Studio provided scale through offshore engineering resources, implemented a highly automated DevOps platform that included test automation, and enabled our client to move from waterfall methodology to distributed SAFe Agile.

Our client’s full engineering team is now around 450 people, 70 percent of whom are offshore. Our next wave of work will convert the company’s products to cloud-native architecture.
