Perceiving Digital Horizons: Is AI Really Revolutionizing Industries or Hyping Its Existence?
The AI revolution is here! Is it benefiting industries and humankind?
This question sparks a regular debate and took center-stage during an industry leaders gathering at Infogain Poland's anniversary celebration.
Four tech experts tackled the burning question: "Digital Horizons: Is AI Charting Your Path Forward?"
The panelists brough together diverse perspectives from across the technology landscape, which included; Jacek Drabik, Country Manager at Motorola Solutions Poland; Wojciech Gworek, SVP of Software Engineering at Sabre Poland; Rohit Nagpal, Chief Business Officer at Infogain, and Sławomir Kumka, Managing Director at IBM Poland.
Their insights-laden discussion revealed both the immense potential and practical challenges of AI adoption across industries. We explore the entire discussion and context-analyze various scenarios businesses face with AI in the center.
Real AI Impact in Action | No Hype, Pure Impact
"Industries are in different stages of the 'crawl, walk, run' approach, and most of them are in the crawl phase," observed Rohit Nagpal. Infogain has witnessed this firsthand – their Ignis AI platform processes thousands of data records in nanoseconds, helping a high-tech company manage content expected to grow to 10,000 pages.
The proof lies in the pudding: the actual tangible business results. In the automotive sector, Mercedes Benz has revolutionized call center operations using Google AI, while the travel industry is seeing Gen AI tools replicate travel agent expertise for personalized booking experiences. As Nagpal emphasized, "The industry is fast adopting AI, and it's no longer hype – it will continue to build and become bigger."
While the optimism persisted, Sabre's Wojciech Gworek provided a reality check, highlighting that "data in the travel industry is highly regulated, and it's a challenge to train LLMs." His concern on upskilling workforce and convincing customers to leverage AI reflects broader industry challenges. Yet even with these hurdles, Sabre is developing a dynamic pricing engine using AI to personalize airfare prices, with preliminary tests showing potential revenue increases of 5% for airlines.

A $20 Trillion Future | The Economics Dazzle
When the attention turned to AI's economic implications, the numbers were staggering! Nagpal referenced an IDC report (International Data Corporation) projecting that business spending on AI adoption – whether improving existing processes or enhancing products – will contribute to a cumulative global economy of nearly $20 trillion by 2030. "That's roughly 3.5% of global GDP," he noted, emphasizing the massive scale of AI's economic transformation.
Sławomir Kumka from IBM highlighted banking as a sector leading this charge: "AI is playing a significant role in banking. They have the money to invest and ideas on how to make money with new projects." Meanwhile, logistics and manufacturing are leveraging sophisticated algorithms for complex planning decisions, demonstrating AI's versatility across sectors.
Motorola's Jacek Drabik offered another perspective: "Industries dealing directly with consumers will adopt and benefit the most. Those companies who deliver services and goods to consumers are going to adopt AI much faster than anybody else."
Quantum Leaps and Turbo Speed Results | Now or Never
Perhaps the most intriguing insight came from Kumka's vision of the next decade: "Quantum computing and AI coming together will redefine how things are done." Supercomputing and scientific discovery in the next 10 years can change the landscape completely." He pointed to accelerated drug discovery and the emerging "speed of life" concept, where AI dramatically quickens decision-making processes.
While the debate continued to drop in such pearls of wisdom, one thing was clear: The hype around AI has been doused, and it is becoming the foundation of business operations, helping them compete and serve customers in an increasingly connected world.
In Part Two, we will explore the critical ethical challenges these leaders identified and how to balance innovation with operational reliability and security. The conversation gets even more compelling in the next part of the blog. For more information or to schedule a demo of our AI-enabled services, please write to info@infogain.com.
