ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal UX Design Specialist who will serve as a design authority and hands-on practitioner, owning the complete user experience lifecycle across complex digital products. This role blends strategic UX thinking, deep design expertise, and delivery ownership, while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams.

The individual will act as a design specialist and experience leader, driving high-quality UX outcomes rather than managing large design teams.

Key Responsibilities

UX Strategy & Ownership

Own the end-to-end UX lifecycle: discovery, definition, design, validation, and delivery.

Translate business objectives and user needs into clear UX strategies and experience frameworks.

Define experience principles, success metrics, and design standards for assigned products or programs.

Discovery & Research

Lead user interviews, business stakeholder discussions, and contextual inquiries.

Synthesize research findings into personas, user journeys, service blueprints, and opportunity areas.

Partner with Product Managers to influence roadmaps using user-centric insights.

Design Execution (Hands-On)

Create and review wireframes, interaction flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.

Drive information architecture and interaction design for enterprise-grade, data-heavy applications.

Ensure consistency and scalability through design systems, UI patterns, and reusable components.

Design Governance & Quality

Act as a design reviewer and gatekeeper, ensuring usability, accessibility, and brand alignment.

Provide expert guidance to designers and cross-functional teams without formal line management.

Establish UX best practices and reusable assets to improve efficiency and quality.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

Present UX concepts, research insights, and design rationale to senior stakeholders and clients.

Influence decision-making by articulating trade-offs between user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

Serve as a trusted UX advisor across engagements.

Delivery & Validation

Work closely with Engineering during implementation to ensure design fidelity.

Support usability testing, UAT, and post-launch evaluations.

Iterate designs based on user feedback, analytics, and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications

12+ years of experience in User Experience / Product Design roles.

Proven ability to own UX end-to-end across complex, enterprise or B2B products.

Strong expertise in user research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.

Hands-on proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Miro, or equivalent tools.

Deep understanding of usability, accessibility (WCAG), and design systems.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.

Experience working in Agile / product-centric delivery models.
