Job Title: Apigee & DevOps Engineer (GCP)

The Opportunity
We are modernizing a large-scale enterprise platform as part of a cloud migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role combines hands-on API management using Apigee with DevOps responsibilities across GKE, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure automation.
You will play a key role in migrating and operating APIs on Apigee, while also enabling reliable deployments, automation, monitoring, and production readiness across the GCP environment.
What You Will Do
API / Apigee Responsibilities
Design and migrate API proxies to Apigee
Implement authentication and authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS as applicable)
Configure policies for rate limiting, quotas, threat protection, logging, and caching
Integrate Apigee with backend services hosted on GKE
Support API performance testing and gateway tuning
Troubleshoot API gateway issues during migration and production readiness
DevOps / Platform Responsibilities
Provision and manage GKE clusters and related infrastructure
Configure CI/CD pipelines for API proxies, services, and infrastructure deployments
Automate environment setup using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or equivalent)
Enable monitoring, logging, and alerting (API gateway, GKE, Spanner integration points)
Support deployment governance, rollback strategies, and release management
Assist in cutover planning and production stabilization
What We’re Looking For (Must Have)
Strong hands-on experience with Apigee (proxy configuration, policies, environment management)
Solid understanding of API security and traffic management concepts
Experience with GKE and Kubernetes deployments
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines
Working knowledge of GCP services (IAM, networking, logging, monitoring)
Ability to troubleshoot cross-layer issues (API ? runtime ? infrastructure)
Nice to Have
Experience migrating from Azure API Management to Apigee
Familiarity with Cloud Spanner integration patterns
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform)
Exposure to large-scale cloud migration programs
