Implementation

Infogain has developed a proprietary SOA implementation methodology which is technology and tool set agonistic. Our approach is optimized for Oracle Fusion Middleware and the JBoss platform. We work with our clients to customize the SOA implementation methodology to meet their specific business and technical architecture requirements – both current and future.

The initial pilot implementation of the Proof-of-Concept (POC) helps to quickly prototype the final architecture and visualize the business and IT benefits from SOA. The POC includes an SOA Infrastructure Setup which is a prototype platform that serves as a springboard for training and for the pilot project. From the POC, the IT organization and business users are able to visualize the SOA solution in a tangible way. This leads to fruitful discussions allowing both groups to understand the risks and long-term rewards of the SOA approach.

Infogain’s SOA Implementation methodology follows a phased migration approach and leverages our best practices and guidelines for establishing a high availability SOA environment. Our flexible approach incorporates changing business requirements and brings visibility to projects in incremental fashion. Infogain also incorporates SLA-based Managed Services and Support, including monitoring and audit capabilities in order to ensure continuous adherence to the assigned SLAs and QoS.

SOA Technologies:

Infogain’s SOA and Integration team has expertise in a broad spectrum of technologies, particularly Oracle Fusion and JBoss. The recent economic downturn has forced many small and medium sized organizations to adopt very aggressive cost cutting measures and a result of this has been the increased adoption of Open Source tools for SOA implementation.

Infogain can bring to bear its vast expertise in this area. The tools have reached a strong level of maturity especially for the tactical SOA implementation areas of ESB, BPEL and to some extent BPM. Offerings from JBoss such as jBPM and the Apache Foundation such as Apache ServiceMix for example can also be considered if cost is a barrier for entry for early SOA Adoption.
