Infogain's Dual-Shore Delivery Model
Infogain's dual-shore delivery model leverages the technology, practices, and accountability of the parent organization with the scalability of the India Development Center (IDC) to deliver a solid value proposition to clients. The dual-shore model mitigates the risks and uncertainties of remote development by offering business analysis and project management control at the client site.
With the India Development Center, a wholly owned development center based in India with more than 400 consultants, Infogain leverages depth of engineering skills, compelling cost efficiencies, and superior quality of service. Infogain's India Development Center is in the process of expansion, moving to add 350 software professionals in the coming months, while foraying into the BPO segment to offer clients greater diversification of services.
Benefits of Infogain's Dual-Shore Model
- Offshore development advantages
- Lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Overall cost savings
- Enhanced productivity levels
- More efficient use of overhead
- Proficient resource management
- Improved ROI
Offshore DevelopmentWith the India Development Center, clients benefit from lower costs, no movement of software engineers, shortened project lifecycles due to cost/productivity advantages, and exceptionally high quality processes that comply with CMM Level 5.
Reduced Application Total Cost of OwnershipOn average, one or two onsite leads work with the IDC staff to provide a lower blended rate. Outsourcing software development requirements can deliver results like these:
- Average of 50% cost savings over current staffing
- Average of 40% productivity improvement
- Approximately 80% reduction in management overhead
- Faster return on investment
Significant Cost SavingsThe India Development Center cost model allows for duplication of the application environment, initial training, knowledge transfer, the transition process, and steady state phase. Typical first-year savings are approximately 40% of current costs; ongoing years average about 50%. These numbers are based on industry average rates of $750K for a sustenance engineering team. Infogain's dual-shore cost model reduces this figure to about $445K.
Productivity ImprovementThe IDC has solid experience with sustenance engineering programs, a seasoned engineering staff, and established processes. Current productivity levels are determined at the outset of each program, and they target the achievement of higher levels within a six-months period. Infogain's guarantee is a 30% increase in productivity with equal or better product quality.
Reduction in Management OverheadInfogain's onsite project lead handles all day-to-day interactions, escalating when necessary. This easily eliminates four days per week of direct management by a key IT director or manager, who is then free to focus on other critical IT activities.
Managing Spikes in Activity Infogain's dual-shore methodology incorporates the practice of effectively managing our resources upon a lull or a ramp-up in client activity. This ensures that the client does not incur any unnecessary costs or carry unnecessary overhead; at the same time, Infogain is always ready to meet the client's needs.
Faster Return on Investment (ROI)By lowering costs, improving performance, and conserving resources ROI is realized much sooner.
A distinguishing element of our dual-shore methodology is our Dedicated Development Center (DDC).
As part of the dual-shore solution, the IDC also offers a preferred business model called the Dedicated Development Center (DDC) for those clients who wish to engage in long-term business relationships. Under this model, the IDC will replicate a fully furnished virtual development center for the client, at its base in India.
Separate and dedicated staff and resources are allocated to this virtual extension of the client's development center. The DDC environment simulates the client environment to the greatest extent possible, with software engineers, team leaders, and project managers assigned per the client's skill-matrix requirements. The client enjoys the benefits of improved communication, higher productivity, and better synergy.
The DDC can be allocated for fixed or variable time periods, depending upon the scope of work. And the IDC takes complete responsibility for infrastructure management, recruitment, personnel training, hardware/software procurement and maintenance, the communication network, HR management, primary project management, and quality control. |
