The recent National Retail Federation (NRF) 2010 was an exciting event for us, particularly as retailers worldwide came to see our work and successful implementation of Oracle’s Retail Point of Sale Solution for a major apparel retailer in the US. The Store Tour provided clients with a real in-store view of the benefits of tightly integrated store solutions with back office functions. |
In addition, the rapid movement towards mobile as a key part of a multichannel experience was very evident at the NRF. The hot topics were true self service, mobile assisted sales using a handheld ‘virtual point-of-sale’ and mobile retail apps.
We have been developing our Retail mobility solutions portfolio for over 2 years and are seeing early successes in B2C sectors such as travel and transport, mobile ticketing as an example. I am pleased to say that we have a number of projects rolling out this year with major brands where we are helping them to dovetail their multichannel touch-points to deliver a single customer centric experience.
With JustGo and Virtual Point of Sale (VPOS) added to our depth of expertise in-store, we are well placed to help our clients delight their customers with overwhelming customer service. We are resolute in our plans to become a partner of choice for this transition to fully integrated multichannel. IDC predicts huge growth in this portion of the Retail Sector and we are investing and resourcing heavily to provide scale and depth to our clients.
We may be trudging out of recession, but certain portions of our key markets are seeing accelerated growth. Look out for major announcements regarding our project successes this quarter in the US, Middle East, China and the UK |
